Painter. She obtains a B.F.A. of Cooper School Union of Arts and Sciences, NYC, 1984. Recently obtained the Second Honrabe Metion for the paintings "Balcón" and "Patio" in 34ème the International of the Peinture, celebrated in the Chateau-Musee of the Cagnes-south-Mer, Cote d'Azur, France (2002). In addition she has been awarded for the lithography "Clasifícame ésta", Prize, XIII Bienal de San Juan del Grabado Latinoamericano y del Caribe (2001) of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña; the Association of Artists UNESCO (1999); Federal Design Achievement Awards, Round Four of the Presidential Design, for graphical design of the catalogue tribute of Carlos Collazo (1995); and First Great Prize, III Bienal Internacional de Pintura, Cuenca, Ecuador (1991), for the painting "Donde moran los terribles". She has participated in numerous exhibitions among them: "De Lo Que Soy/Of What I Am" (an exhibition of self-portraits by women from Latin America and the Carribbean, February 07 through May, 12, 2003), Lehman College Art Gallery, NYC; "Interrogating Diversity", Betty Rymer Gallery, School of the Institute of Art of Chicago, Chicago (2002); "Flight of the Falcon", Girifalco Fortress, Cortona, Italy (2001); "El arte en Puerto Rico a través del tiempo", Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (2001); "Latin Caribbean, Cuba , Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico", MOOLA, Los Angeles, CA (2000); "Tesoros de la pintura puertorriqueña", Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (2000); "Women of the World: A Global Collection of Art", White Columms, N.Y.C., intinerante exhibition (2000-02); "The Richness of Diversity Contemporary Puerto Rican and Mexican Artists", Susquehanna Art Museum, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (1997); "Caribbean Visions: Contemporary Painting and Sculpture", intinerante exhibition , Center for Fine Arts, Miami (1995 a 1996); "El Portafolio Gráfico Puertorriqueño", Museo de las Américas, Bienal del Grabado de San Juan (1995); "Latin American Women Artists 1915-1995", Milwaukee Art Museum, intinerante exhibition , Phoenix Art Museum, The Denver Art Museum, The National Museum of Women in the Arts (1995-96); and, "Otro País; escalas africanas", organized by the editor Simmon Njami of the Parisian magazine Revue Noire, intinerante exhibition , Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, Mallorca, España (1994). At the beginning of 1999 was invited by the Center Innovative Printmaking and Papermaking, Rutgers University, New Jersey to give lectures and to make the lithography "Clasifícame ésta" as a resident artist. With this work she becomes part of the delegation from Puerto Rico to the exhibition Argentina Contemporary Lithography, 1999: 4ta Edition in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Founder member of the e-zine El cuarto del Quenepón.
